We invite you to step back in time and enjoy the splendor of yesteryear in this magnificent c.1746 National Historic Register home!  The spacious guest rooms are romantically furnished in period style featuring four poster & canopy beds, working fireplaces, and/or jacuzzi-whirlpool tubs, comfortable sitting areas, cable TV, stereo/cd players, phone/modem lines, AC, and private baths.  This charming home boasts many fine original details including original wide-board floors throughout, hand-hewn beams, wainscoting, a corner cupboard, beehive oven, and six working fireplaces.

A formal candlelit breakfast is served in the elegant fireplaced dining room on fine china.  Spring, summer, and fall, relax in our picturesque grounds with pretty gardens, inviting sitting areas, a handsome two century-old maple tree with swing, and hammock.  In the winter, lounge by the fire in the parlor, enjoy a game of chess or checkers, or visit with friends, and enjoy complimentary sherry, tea, and snacks.  Guest refrigerator and complimentary softdrinks are also always available.  Massage therapy on premises.

Located in the heart of the historic district, on a pretty gas-lit main street, we are a short walk to the water, quaint shops, restaurants, cafes, coffeehouses with entertainment, theatres, churches, spas, town green activities, scenic North Cove historic district, and Saybrook Point Park at the mouth of the Connecticut River.  We are next door to an old-fashioned ice-cream parlor (since 1896), coffeehouse, and art gallery; and across the street from the General William Hart House Museum and a pillared white church.  We are also part of a scenic coastal bicycle loop.

From the B&B take a scenic stroll along the water past the historic homes and scenic views of North and South Cove, Saybrook Point, and Fenwick.  Watch the sun set over the ocean, or take a walk at Fort Saybrook Monument Park or out to one of Old Saybook's lighthouses.

Beautiful area for walking, bicycling, canoeing, antiqueing, and scenic drives along the CT River and Long Island Sound.  One mile to Long Island Sound beaches and Connecticut River Cruises.  Beach passes, maps, and advice provided!
