Killahevlin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register and is situated on a Civil War encampment site where two of Mosby's Rangers were hanged. The inn has been professionally restored and exquisitely designed - complete with interesting antiques, working fireplaces, private bathrooms (most with whirlpool tubs) and fluffy towels, comfy queen size beds (some are four poster), and wonderful mountain views. The Irish influence can be spotted throughout the house with stained glass transom windows, reproduction wallpaper from 19th century Ireland and, of course, the private Irish Pub for guests offering complimentry Irish draft beer on tap, wine, soft drinks and snacks. Inside this lovingly restored home, guests enjoy a wonderful feeling of openness and light; featuring high-ceilinged rooms, delicate wood paneling and wallpapers, and an abundance of windows and french doors. The mansion is situated so that from the rooms, verandah, porches, gazebos and grounds there are wonderful outlooks to the property's magnificent tree line with the Blue Ridge Mountains and the George Washington National Forest as a distant backdrop.
